Privacy policy

Chalazion Guide collects as little as possible, because a health reference does not need to know who is reading it.

What we collect

We do not require an account, and we do not ask for health information. The directory search form sends the text you type to the server so the page can respond; it is not stored and it is not associated with an identifier.

Server logs

Our host keeps short-lived request logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL) for operational and abuse-prevention purposes. They are not used to build a profile and are not shared.

Geolocation

If you press the "Use my location" button, your browser asks for your coordinates and sends them with that single request so we can sort the nearest clinics. We use the coordinates for that one request only: they are never stored, never written to a database, never logged, and never shared with anyone. The results page they open is markednoindex so search engines do not index a personalised page, and it is served without caching so it cannot be retained at the edge. The city or ZIP search works the same way with location switched off.

Cookies and trackers

Chalazion Guide sets no cookies and runs no advertising or cross-site tracking scripts. The pages ship no client-side JavaScript beyond the site itself.

Third parties

Web fonts are loaded from a font CDN, which necessarily sees the request for them. Directory listings link out to practice websites; those sites have their own privacy policies. We do not share, sell or license any data to third parties.
